The Hi, How Are You? Project is a nonprofit promoting mental health awareness and encouraging open conversations through art, music, and community initiatives. It was founded in honor of artist and musician Daniel Johnston to continue his legacy of compassion and creativity.
The asterisk is a recurring symbol in Daniel Johnston’s work, often scattered throughout his drawings. While Daniel never explicitly defined its meaning, the asterisk can be interpreted as a marker of importance, a visual footnote urging viewers to look deeper.
